how to do vintage winged eyeliner using a pen liner

Here’s how to do vintage style winged eyeliner using pen liner – with tips from our vintage beauty experts!

To get perfect winged eyeliner, you’ll first need to select your products – this could be liquid liner, gel liner or pen liner (in this tutorial a waterproof pen liner in black was used).

How to do vintage winged eyeliner using a pen liner

  • (Pic 1) Take your chosen eyeliner and make a line from the outer corner of your eye. This line will determine the size of your wing. It’s a great idea to pull your eye taut to achieve a smooth line.
  • (pic 2) From the inner corner of your eye, apply the liner close to your lash line and bring it across in one sweep, connecting it with your wing, ensuring that you’re pulling taut and keeping a smooth line.
  • (pic 3) Fill in any gaps using small strokes and if you make a mistake, all is not lost – a clean angled brush and some concealer make for a great corrector!
  • Do not aim to make your liner symmetrical, eyes are sisters, NOT twins!

Happy lining!
