Equine fashion for pony girls and boys
by Twisted Fashionista
Whether you have decided you want to dress as a pony girl/boy for a fetish event or just want to shake things up on your trip to the supermarket, kudos on the outfit choice. This mini-guide will help you get the look on both a low budget, and a sky's-the-limit one!
The pony girl/boy look is great for a fetish night; it is playful and sexy and definitely gets you attention. So let's start from the top...
Head
If the 'pony' has long hair, tying it up in a very high top pony tail is the obvious ideal style for this look. The clue lies in the name! Stick some feathers in your hair as plumage for a show quality pony look.
Every pony needs a bit gag and reins - this will help with the playful aspect of this outfit as you can lead your pony around, or be led around by your pony. It is easier than you might think to find the gear you need for this outfit. Bit gags are quite a common fetish item and can be found online in a lot of shops. Lovehoney.com have a stylish one for £16.99. They're comfy to wear, and definitely get you in the right frame of mind (as my boyfriend will tell you. When he wore one out he was nuzzling me all night and chomping at it - SERIOUSLY cute!). If you're a sucker for costume ears, like me, then the heavy duty ones from German fetish company Marquis are at the other end of the scale at ?123.
Arms
Now, I'm not setting out to tell you something you already know here, but ponies don't have arms. So you can't be a real pony with your arms and hands flapping around! Fact. There's a way of remedying this. Wrist-to-neck restraints are another common item in fetish shops, and serve our purpose perfectly. They can also be quite cheap! Bondara.com have a purple pvc one for £10. This gives you or your pony a fantastic posture, thrusting your chest forward and your shoulders back. Not only attractive but, voila! No arms. For a far more extreme look a 'monoglove' could be worn, tightly binding your arms together behind your back. www.ozbondage.com do an amazing handmade leather one for around ?230.
Tail
There are several good tails on the internet that I've spied, including ones made of real horse hair - with no harm to horses in their making, of course! A tail attached to a harness is the best idea. They have them at www.fantasyleather.com for £28.04, and the tail is £14 and comes in a variety of natural hair colours. A perfect adornment for any pony boy or girl! There are also a large amount of horse tail b*tt plugs available, if that tickles your fancy. Though that's probably not a great idea if you're still thinking of wearing this outfit to the supermarket. There is also a lustworthy leather corset with tail, perfect for pony girls. And so sexy! It is available from Coco De Mer for £650...
Hooves
I won't deny this is my favourite part - because I'm a shoe addict. And there are some spectacular shoes out there that could be used for pony play! For the pony boys, I think a pair of Dr Marten's are a good option for this outfit. When my boyfriend wore this, he wore oxblood red knee high docs fully laced up, and they looked fantastic. For the pony girls, nothing quite beats the leather boots and shoes with horse irons at punitiveshoes.com! The boots are 219 euros, so a bit on the expensive side. Black patent high heel court shoes would be a great alternative and much cheaper! For total craziness (think Lady Gaga), many designers have used heel-less shoes in their catwalk shows. My favourites are from Nina Ricci Fall 2009.
