Mass Effect 2 Marathon

Mass Effect 2 Marathon

The Mass Effect 2 Marathon is ON. Get video gaming for charity, save all your Mass Effect squaddies and help save sick children throughout the galaxy! Spread the word…

Do you enjoy watching gameplay footage on Youtube? Are you a Bioware video game addict? Do you love children or enjoy that fuzzy feeling you get for supporting a charity? If you said yes to any of the above, well, here’s a treat for you:

The Mass Effect 2 Marathon is on! It’s a gaming marathon that’s like a Charity Telethlon. A live playthrough of Mass Effect 1 & 2 will be broadcasted on UStreamTV that anyone can watch on their computers, laptop or mobile devices.

This particular marathon is in support of Child’s Play Charity, which raises money to buy Toys, Video Games, Books and other forms of entertainment to improve the lives of child patients for hospitals worldwide. There are a lot of studies going on now that find that if patients are happier and can keep their minds off of their condition, they heal quicker and ask for less pain medication. This makes an organization like Child’s Play Charity a really worthwhile charity to support.

Even if you’re not familiar with the Mass Effect series, this is a great opportunity to get to know the game while doing a bit of charity. This marathon is pretty different from other gaming marathons as a result because at the Mass Effect Marathon, you’re given all the major choices that are in the games over to you, the viewers, through a series of voting polls that anyone who comes to the site can vote in. In addition, the more that you donate to the marathon will mean that they will keep certain characters alive in Mass Effect 2 during the games ending Suicide Mission.

The event begins on the 25th of November this year but you can start donating right now! They need to raise at least $30,000 to save ALL your Mass Effect 2 squaddies (and make a tonne of children happy) so go, go, go!

Head over to the main Mass Effect 2 Marathon page for the full FAQ. And to help spread the word, here’s the JPEG flyer and the PDF flyer of the event.
