YOU ARE VIEWING: HOLIDAYS AND TRAVEL
- How about a working holiday as a volunteer? Log on to www.volunteering.org.uk for details of work in the UK and abroad for both long and short-term durations. Other useful vocational volunteer sites include www.ciee.org and www.seasonworkers.com.
- Fancy wading through the mud at Glastonbury or the V festival but can't afford it? Try offering your services as a steward at www.oxfam.org.uk/stewards or www.cafod.org.uk.
- Book flights on the internet, compare prices and get discount. Try www.cheapflights.co.uk to get an idea of where the budget airlines fly to and from. Get prices from the Cheapflights site but cross reference with the airline website itself, in case it turns out to be cheaper. Tip: most airlines have .com, not .co.uk after their name.
- Cheapo, budget package holidays can be found on www.directholidays.co.uk, www.lastminute.com and www.holidayhypermarket.co.uk.
- Buy a tent, camp rough and save money on accommodation completely!
- Ensure that you have at least one friend in your social circle that owns, or has access to, a fabulous villa abroad where you can stay.
- Make lovely email pals in nice places. Crash at their pad when visiting their country.
