Flawless You Forever...?

We are always on the lookout for make-up bases which make our pores smaller and skins airbrushed. With FYF Air Base, we were really quite pleased...

Normally, we mooks favour mineral cosmetics. However, I personally have very fair skin with a touch of rosacea (that's red flush to you) and large pores. Large greasy pores are good in that your oily skin stays looking younger for longer, but it's bad in that those big pores are black holes that base powders can fall into and congeal in. Yuck.

So... while I love mineral make-up, I'm always happy to try out new products that might make a genuine difference in seconds to the poor state of my skin. Just through cosmetics, you understand, not eating vegetables or drinking water or, heaven forfend, sleeping.

So I was rather keen to get my hands on some FYF Air Base, available from Stilorama. It's basically a lightweight, oil-free liquid foundation that is said to work with all skin types. It comes in three shades - Deep, Natural Beige and Chiffon. I went for Chiffon, the lightest. And I have to say I was really pleased with it. It felt very silky smooth on my skin. It worked pretty well as a pore minimiser, making my big pores look smaller without getting all icky. My skin tones were evened out - and, with a touch of mineral blusher on top, I had an effect that lasted for quite a few hours. It felt like wearing make-up without looking like I was wearing make-up. Always a good thing, because then people will focus on my midnight blue eyeshadow instead of my red skin...
