Nourkrin super hair putter backer

If there are any Mookychicks out there who regularly use hair extensions & weaves, you may have noticed... bald patches. You're not alone. Time to ditch the hair extensions and take up a decent hair loss supplement...

by Lotte Daley

As an old diehard fan of wearing hair extensions, there was a time when I was never seen without them. That lovely photo of me, long blonde hair...? It's all faked! Long and full poker straight and blonde. Just like my favourite celebrities.

But what led me to them? Vanity? Partly, but not to begin with. I flirted with fake hair extensions after a terribly traumatic experience. Very bad hairdresser in very well known high street salon gave me an exceptionally evil hair cut thinking I'd be grateful to sport a Mullet. No thanks - I may have been a child of the eighties but it didn't mean I wanted to be a twenty something stuck in a bad style time warp. However hairdressers, as they so often do, blithely ignored my request for a 'little trim' with a 'bit of shape' and got scissor happy with a style monstrosity that edged in a blunt jagged line.

I was and am like any other girl and that is I like to change my appearance now and again, on a more regular basis in my late teens and early twenties, experimentation with vivid colours, streaks, slices and aubergine highlights. And my addiction to hair extensions was born the day the hair destroyer ruined my confidence. Because having a bad hair cut is far worse than anything else on earth. So I had rainbow hair, blonde, brunette, black, red....and all of it fake, stuck on with glue that was a jip in the bum to get off, and quite painful actually. But it was worth it to feel like 'me' again. I felt sexy, glam and gorgeous.

That's with the hair extensions in. With them out, I felt naked and not so hot and also, a little, well....bald in places. Despite the appearance of little bald patches that sprung up post hair extension take out, I was unmoved in my quest to have more and more. Every time though, I took them out the shower was saturated with manky bits of glue and errant hair strands. I wore them so often that my head hurt a little where they were placed. Pinky skin. Not pleasant.

So after many years of putting myself through this in the name of beauty, I now have long hair, thick and full and all my own. But I still have patches...so what have I done about it? Well, ever the product-hungry chick, I found something perfect. Hair loss supplement Nourkrin is organic (of course) and, believe it or not, loads of other girls have the same problem as I did, and use it, according to posh hairdresser Beverly C who has noticed a massive trend in girls with 'post hair extension damage' from poorly fitted or prolonged usage of hair extensions and weaves.

It's a product on the market that's made up of natural goodness. Nourkrin includes a marine-based extract of proteins and polysaccharides, fortified with Vitamin C from Acerola Cherry - the richest source of Vitamin C you can get. Silica - an important mineral for reducing hair loss and maintaining strong healthy hair. Horsetail Extract - organic form of silica, which increases the strength of the hair and revitalises lifeless hair. Fenugreek - proven to reduce DHT inhibitors, increase the dilation of blood vessels to the scalp and improve circulation and nutrient supply. Omega 3 Fatty Acid - unsaturated acids have been shown to be an important part of the hair structure. Happy days!

So how does Nourkrin hair loss supplement work?

If you're already bald, it won't sprout you a full head of hair but if you are in the early stages, for whatever reason, this is how it helps.

Nourkrin works in 4 stages – over 6 months:

1) Firstly it slows and stops hair loss - month 1-2

2) Secondly it strengthens the existing hair - month 2-3

3) Thirdly it promotes growth of dormant hair - month 4-6

4) Finally it strengthens the new (wispy/thin) hair - month 4-6.

Market research sounds fab and everyone's waxing lyrical but I erred on the side of caution and decided to try it out for myself. The results aren't back in their full form yet as I'm only a few weeks into using it, but I can already see a difference and my hair is regrouping back to its fabulous former glory and hardly a bald patch in sight! Hurrah!

Nourkrin Maintain costs £39.99 for 60 tablets and is available from Boots, Holland & Barrett and all good independent health food stores and pharmacies.

You've probably all seen the infamous picture where poor Naomi Campbell exposes some serious bald patches from excessive use of hair extensions. This is not that picture.
