Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

by Magda Knight

Computer games: Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light lets you and a friend battle the denizens and deathtraps of an ancient Mayan temple for $15. Let's hope your boobs don't get in the way.

When Lara Croft finds the long lost Temple of Light in the mountains of Central America, she unwittingly frees an evil spirit determined to plunge the world into eternal darkness. Alongside Totec, a Mayan tribesman, Lara Croft must hunt down the Mirror of Smoke in a new adventure that begins in Summer 2010.

We were intrigued to hear about Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light (available in Summer 2010) for several reasons.

Firstly, it's a download-only game. for a pocket-friendly $15 you get around six hours of gameplay.

Secondly, it's a standalone title. Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light isn't actually part of the Tomb Raider series - although there is a Tomb Raider game in the mix. It will, however, feature all the usual Tomb Raider hallmarks: action, puzzle-solving and exploration while hostile animals and people fling themselves at Lara's pneumatic boobs.

Lastly, Guardian of Light differs from other Tomb Raider games in that it's 'arcade-inspired' - played from an isometric viewpoint, you can play solo or go for co-operative gameplay as Lara Croft hangs out with a Mayan tribesman called Totec to combat the dangers of a Central American underworld. Guardian of Light may be played with a single player and a second player can join in the action at any time, whether online or locally. Two heads are definitely better than one when it comes to puzzle-solving.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be released on Xbox 360, Ps3 and PC this Summer 2010.

Mission statement

Mookychick believes that climbing trees and riding giant turtles is more fun and girly than worrying about make-up. But if you want to worry about make-up instead of turtles? Fine by us. Be you feminist, kitten, punk, emo, indie, goth, witch, vegan, horror junky, intellectual, christian goth, corset queen, geek, unicorn, sea monkey... be you into alternative style, alternative health, spirituality, comics, manga, j-pop, harajuku or jock culture... we will always love you.

The dark art!) about nasty Grecian godesses and plant noir. She basically puts herself about a bit.
