Layer in layer in layer
Wool, leather, laces
Secure on capable boots
It is cold enough to apple
Cheeks but no colder.
The calm is deep
As these woods
Familiar as a spouse.
No tracks in the grove
The world falls silent
Snow in slow big flakes
Enshrouding a full heart.
