Dixit, how do we love thee? Let us count the ways…
Creative and beautiful. Dixit is a board game with elegant wooden rabbit pieces (yes, you can be the white rabbit). Players hold cards with depictions of amazing imagery, and take it in turn to tell ‘stories’ about their chosen card, the aim of the game being that you rack up points if SOME but not ALL people guess your card from the story. Although your made-up stories based on the cards in your hand are usually just a word or sentence long (eg. “impossible adventure”, “he ate it whole”), your story can even be a sound effect or a mime. So, so creative.
What Dixit the board game looks like
Easy yet sneaky. Within one round of the game you’ll know exactly how to play. But that’s when it gets sneaky… how well do you know your friends, and how well do they know you? Are you scientific? Are you addicted to puns, or to the dark side of the soul? Are you analytic or emotional? Will people tell which card is your story just from the kind of person you are? Will you tell theirs? Just how well can everyone cover their tracks?
