6:05am

Open curtains.
Watercolour sky. Pink pastel hue.
Iridescent clouds. Diffused sunlight.
His bed.

Morning strokes his face.
Soft focus.
He breathes a sigh. An unspoken invitation.
The press of chest against back.
His skin, warm.
Heartbeats under fingertips.

I am a thief.
These moments I steal from sleep.
To lie here in dreamlike state,
Until the day wrenches me awake.
