Poetry: Two Kintsugi poems by Marie Fields

Poetry: Two Kintsugi poems by Marie Fields

[kintsu-me]

I gave you my all

Bending to your will

Trusting what your hands would build

You took my cracks

My imperfections

And made them glittering gold

Piecing me back together

Like you would with broken pottery

So very gently

Filling the holes with hope.

[Move On]

It is no easy thing

Distilling this pain

Droplet by droplet

Flask after flask

Filled to the brim

Of what I can stand

To wring such stains from my soul

Takes time I may not have

Another thing I’ve failed to grasp

But time only looks forward

Falling out in just one direction

Just so

And so

I must do the same.
