Beltane, the cusp of Spring and summer, translates as “bright fire”. Back in the shadow months, winter whispered lullabies to her plant children and bid them burrow deep beneath the folds of her cloak. But that’s an old story. That’s the story of winter, and winter’s time is passed.
The sap has risen. Now the air is redolent with the scents of a world fully woke, and there is a sexual honeyed sweetness to the air.
Beltane beckons, and nature is a bitch on heat.She will not be ignored.
Spark up the embers of the eternal fire in your bones once more. In place of winter’s ashes towers summer’s phoenix flame. Let your spirit soar on its currents and go where it will, a spark leaping from a fire.
